7th Graders Upload Art to Artsonia

Please visit our Gallery at Artsonia!

This is a great website that we can celebrate student artwork. Parents can share their students work with family all over the world.
Using the iPads today, students were able to upload their personal work and add a title to their piece. Students can also add personal artists statements from this format.

And I cannot finish December without a picture of the cutest Christmas tree!

He is bite size!

(Oh No! I never clicked Publish! ) Viking Pride T-shirt's

The 8th grade students are mastering silk screens!
Following some investigation into the process 4 different designs were made.
Once the screens had been exposed and ready to go, out came the ink!
Students had the option of bringing in a pre-washed shirt or sweatshirt from home.

Welcome 7th Graders!

We have changed trimesters  here at RVMS and I have a brand new group of students!

New Faces!
Hard at Work the very fist days!

Of course, we had to do a name project so that I can learn all 156 names!

Students practiced writing their names using block letters. Then they created 2 sided tag board (A bit heavier than paper)
letters to build a 3-d
Sculpture!

Great Work by All!

The Snow Plows are On the Trucks!

Friday morning October 24th, Marion County ODOT came to retrieve the snowplows.
What I did not realize is that they would hook them straight to the trucks right then!

The crew from ODOT used a skid-steer loader to move the plow blades from our work area and then attached them to large dump trucks. They will be ready or the snow next week!

3 Projects at Once?

Life has been a little hectic in the Art Room!

The Ohio Department of Transportation, Marion County Division 6 asked for schools to paint snowplow blades that will be placed on area trucks this winter.
Well, of course we had to jump at the chance.

All students worked on a design and the 8th grade students voted to find the final designs.
My students are so creative!

The final designs were chosen and drawn on to the plow blade. Then the painting began.

Cannot wait to see the final products!
Stay Tuned!

P.S. Our local Kroger has been great! They donated former uniform t-shirts
for use as paint shirts!
Thanks!

Emoji Art: Facial Expressions in a Modern Era

Borrowed an Emoji Design project from Room 9: Art!
Thank you for a great idea!

Students are hard at work! Students brainstormed as many different facial expression Emojis as they could in 3 minutes without cheating by peaking at their personal technology.
Then student chose 6-8 different emojis to balance in a composition.

Final projects could have been painted with water color paint or water based markers.

Fabulous Food

8th Graders are finishing their fabulous food projects. They turned out spectacular!
After the original form dried painting began. Students had to mix their own colors and spent several days perfecting the correct look.

Doodling

Doodling is not goofing off!
It is about time that scientists are realizing that visual literacy is important. Doodling or drawing class notes can actually bring a students focus to the topic and help them remain focused!

Screen Printing

Even though we had only 1 day of classes after the holiday break, the 8th graders have managed to make a few screen printed t-shirts!
Using a student's design we have made a screen to create our own class of 2018 custom t-shirt.

8th grade students may still bring a washed t-shirt in and we can print them during Intervention period!
